Kathryn & Dave

Autumn Elegance at The Old Rectory

"Mad Lilies created a romantic secret garden beyond my wildest dreams.

The flowers were magical, their creativity and collaboration throughout was first class."

The Look & Credits

Kathryn & Dave's wedding at The Old Rectory Estate, Surrey

The Look:

For the wedding flowers we created a beautifully soft, relaxed feel with organic charm. The palette and flower choice inclined towards an early autumn feel, ranging from dusky pinks, creams, plums, raspberries and whites with pops of aubergine combined with plenty of grey/green foliage.

At the entrance of the church we styled a gorgeous unstructured design which appeared as though it was naturally growing around the entrance like a rambling rose. We followed this through into the church with gorgeous rambling and growing tied pew end designs, using flowers and foliage that were oversized and trailed to the ground as though naturally formed.

In the marquee we designed relaxed, romantic and unstructured floral dressings, with a dusky autumnal, wild-flower feel and plenty of movement. Working in a palette of dusky pinks, deep plum & raspberry, midnight blues, cream and golds. Thinking of the gorgeous and abundant gardens of the National Trust properties and working with seasonal stems combining big blousy heads, flowing linear stems and smaller delicate flowers, with plenty of greenery and perhaps a peppering of grasses and
plenty of candlelight. Lighting and greenery were key to bringing the atmosphere to the marquee with enhanced use of trees and discreet interwoven bulbs.
